Mel Brooks (1926- )
Actor, director, and producer Mel Brooks is known for his intense drive for success and his over-the-top personality. His boisterous brand of humor is best seen in films such as The Producers (1967), Young Frankenstein (1974), Blazing Saddles (1974), and History of the World Part 1 (1980). In 2001 he produced a Broadway version of The Producers, starring Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick; it won a record-breaking twelve Tony Awards.
